Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen Set-up

I took a drive out to Forge Mill in Redditch yesterday to set up an exhibition with the Worcestershire Guild of Designer Craftsmen.

I’m new to the group and this was my first show with them. It’s fair to say that they’re a pretty welcoming bunch and luckily didn’t object too much to my showing up early and forgetting my paperwork.

It’s interesting to be part of a show that features such a diverse selection. I set up my display next to a basket maker and I’m sharing a cabinet with a couple of ceramicists and a milliner.

Of course there was a lot of jewellery and silverware on show too, and, while I’m used to such a high concentration of metalworkers in the Jewellery Quarter it was encouraging to see just how many are making a living in my home county. Events like this exhibition are so important because otherwise we do tend to hide away in our studios and not see the world at all. Pieces on show at Forge Mill include:

So drop in and see the show. My Tenby and Avian ranges are on display and the opening hours of the exhibition can be found here.
